Before investing in a wheelchair for the car, consider this. People who are in wheelchairs and drive cars typically use the drivers seat that comes with the car. When at a restaurant if they donate stay in their wheelchair they will transfer to a chair there. The only people who would need a custom wheelchair installed in the cobra probably wold not be able to drive it anyway if they need the trunk support it might suggest that they would lack the motor skills to effectively drive. People who are non-ambulatory and drive will use steering wheel mounted devices for braking and accelerator. If you want, you can use a racing seat to provide additional trunk support.

Before investing any money I would suggest that you talk to some people at the local VA and see what the typical needs are for the people who you would like to benefit are. You cannot make a car that anybody with severe motor deficits can drive, that is not possible. What you can do is identify a population that you can serve and adapt a car to meet their needs.

There re some rehab facilities that adapt vehicles for people with disabilities so that they can drive, you might want to check with them as well.
