Thumbs up Ford vs Ferrari Cobras & a Great Visit to Hillbank

Hey all,
Went on a Manly Mission to Hillbank Motors in Irvine today. Seeking info on a possible Cobra purchase. The place is a mecca for Cobra aficionados. Beautiful day, perfect weather! Got there about 10:30. There were about 20 cars parked outside. Cobras, Dayonas, GT40’s & Grand Sports. About 50 more inside the building. Turns out they were loading them up for some auctions in Arizona. Nice guy stopped what he was doing and asked if he could help us. Said I was curious about the various models they had out and he commenced to talk our ear off for the next 3 hours. He introduced himself as Ashton Stander & was just the coolest dude. Took us through the cars top to bottom, rollers, engine options, new, used, etc. He owns both a GT40 & a Cobra & REALLY knew the cars & engines inside & out. Impressed the hell outa me. Got to ride in two different Cobra models, a "Street" and a 427.

Ashton also showed us two of the Cobras that were used in the movie. The blue Cobra is actually silver and has a wrap. It was the CS “Hero” car in the around town scenes.

The red Cobra was featured in the racing sequences.

I REALLY enjoyed the tour & learned a ton of great stuff
Big thanks to Ashton & the crew. Lots of enthusiasm & passion for these vehicles.

More pics....
He said the New GT belonged to his dad.
