My opinion looking at the geometry of the MII front suspension is I believe the strut rods to be the stronger set up. I kept mine when switching to the tubular control arms and coil overs. I did upgrade to the urethane bushings and proper torque of the struts. I didn't see the benefit in eliminating them. I am no expert.
