I agree to clean it and not disassemble further, if this is just a temporary engine.
I have used kerosene to wash and flush out the crud you missed with the vacuum (pull the drain plug for this). Then pour some
oil everywhere to wash out the kerosene (reinstall drain plug and fill with
oil). Run the engine gently for a couple heat cycles and change the
oil again, putting on a new filter.
