Greg's solution is the plan for these pumps. As he already said the repair parts are all but gone today. Worse yet the pumps capacity for fuel delivery, even when new, was marginal. Using the shell and putting modern pumping tech inside gives you both the period correct look and most importantly the fuel volume reserve your engine demands. This is a kick ass solution!
