Who knows. Five minutes more of diagnosing in your driveway isn't going to cause any more damage than what's already there. But remember, I have solid lifters, so they're all collapsed.
Watching the valve train with the covers off would also tell you if a valve wasn't opening, but that usually makes a mess.
