For the horn challenge, what about a separate horn button on the dash panel?
COB6058 (ie English Cobra) uses a button on the dash, which is what I'm doing as well. Makes it a lot easier than attempting to make it work on the steering wheel.

Here's COB6058...note the button on the right side of the steering wheel....

(I have details of the button, if interested - it's the one I'm using on my car)
