This might help you start to come up with a plan. My hood has a scoop, and I have a TP as well, but here is a shot with a K & N 9" round filter with the Xtreme Top. The total height gain is only one quarter inch. The second shot is through the scoop with a 3/4" roll of black electrical tape sitting on the top. The roll of tape just barely touches with the hood latched. This should start to give you an idea of what you'll have under there without a scoop and without a turkey pan between the carb and manifold.
