On a side note due to the age of your car I'd take a look at replacing ALL the fuel hoses as they suffer from fuel permeation thought the casing. The only exception to this being Hard lines and Teflon hoses. I've seen a few posts where folks changed only the braided Carb hose and called it good. Not good.

Mine were ALL spongy from the large fill hoses, to the pump, to the, filters, to the regulator, to the carb. (E85 accelerates the permeation of the rubber)

I don't use braided hose on the fuel system anymore as I sleeve all the fuel hoses and brake lines in the engine compartment with DEI slip-on or Velcro heat sleeving.
