There is no link between Hi Tech USA and Backdraft or Superformance. Superformance is built by Hi Tech SA but though they share the same name, there’s no connection.
When Hi Tech SA began to sell their product in the USA, there was already a company using the name Hi Tech here that sold a similar product. So the name Superformance was born for the US market.
