I assume if I added a small gas reservoir in line from the gas tank to the fuel pump, this should resolve some or all of this issue...anyone have any advice or can share what has worked for you please?

How is your tank vented? Usually, when I see or hear of such issues, it has to do with the way the vent for the tank/fill tube was installed.
