Default External slave clutch question?

I have a SBF with a Scattershield and and an external slave cylinder with a pusher rod. I took my properly operating thirty year old build car in for an engine swap and have had clutch problems ever since.

He's always done good work for me on everything from Benz's, BMW's, Nissan's, Dodge Cummins's, etc.

He took it on himself to try to redesign the wheel. Changed out the slave mount, springs, and clutch arm?

IMO, shouldn't the spring pulling back on the slave be stronger than the spring inside the slave? It appears to me that the throwout bearing is in contact with the clutch fingers?

Any advice would be appreciated.
