I've had to put a hold on progress at the moment as I've just pulled the engine and gearbox out of my Porsche 356 for a rebuild which will be complete, hopefully, in time for our run down to France for the Classic Le Mans event. Anyway the last thing I managed to do last week was to install a minor rear crossmember to support the rear bodywork. When I got the car there was nothing there, it was just hanging. This was indicative of the majority of the car which was pretty much a junk heap when I got it. All I kept was the body and the two main chassis rails, everything else I have re-fabricated.
There were quite a few horror stories in this car a couple of which was the wiring that was a fire waiting to start and the minimal welding done by a child with a stick welder. There is more. I'm running coilovers at each end and although the running gear is basically old Jag stuff, it's now all poly bushed. Some Pics . . .
