But, looks can be deceiving, so if you put a dial gauge on the housing the general rule for non-dedicated-racing cars is that the bushings, also called "steering rack isolators" (and/or insulators) should not allow the housing to move more than 1.5mm (.06") when you turn the steering wheel back and forth with the wheels on the ground.
