I don't suggest that anyone follow my former plan.

I tried many of the solutions listed. Finally gave up and followed a racers solution. Which didn't include the safety wires.

I'd install the spinners and hand tighten while off the ground. Don't smack 'em in the air, just not enough resistance to lock up. Then I'd lower until the tires were touching the ground and tap the spinners. Once fully supported I'd hit 'em again. After a short drive I'd hit 'em again.

Never had an issue. Two SPF cars and about 50k miles this way.
