Today, most are sold as painted with substantial assembly at ERA. A lot of the cars are rollers or turn key.
He has an aging crew and I think they are trying to lighten the load in several places. The ERA rear is just one of those places.

I think you're right. But, man, to drop the outboard braked rear is, IMO, a terrible mistake. It is probably the coolest part on my car.
