Cranky's got it right. At VIR, it was what your car could do, how it was driven, what you'd overcome. That, and tangible comraderie.
At work and around town, it's "Gawd, that's a beautiful ride!"
I'm willing to do the occasional drive-in, but I'd rather be driving than polishing. So I've written up and laminated what the engine is, and what the body is. Post it on the window and let them read it while I look at other great pieces of art.
Otherwise, "No, it's not real. Ommmmmm"
