Mothers' Day is the first event at Watkins Glen? Is next year a definite? I'll have to keep that in mind for next year. My wife is already sort of onboard with the idea of coming to the Glen. Neither family will be too upset with us, because both of our mothers are deceased (not meant to be funny at all, but it's just fact). I'll have to mark the long range calender and keep my fingers crossed.
As for the painting. John, have you ever seen the show on TLC called Trading Spaces? Where they work all day two days straight on a neighbors house to re-decorate a room? Well, that's what I did to my house 4th of July weekend, so that I could come racing. I worked 3 straight days from 8:30 am until about 10:00 pm (with a 3 hour break for a quick cruise night visit) completely painting my family room and kitchen. And I mean everything, from moving furninture, removing electrical outlet covers, taping the ceiling for edging, painting the ceiling, taking down and putting back up the blinds.......
By the end of the third day, the thought of a paint brush made me nauseous. All of this while my wife was at the beach, spending the weekend with her sister. But it was all worth it for a great day of racing.
