Cables can stretch, especially if the travel of the pedal is in excess of the travel allowed at the fork, so at the end of fork travel, the cable is under undue tension. The firewall mounting could be moving on you as well. I doubt that the fork is bending. The pressure plate could be loosening up, so it won't disengage as well. It could be many things other that the cable.
