Well since you already have a Windsor, I'll assume you have come to your senses--just kidding.

The motor you mention seems like a good buy. The 385 engine family is known for the ability to produce horsepower and you can do it cheaply.

The only question to answer it seems to me is whether you care about having the correct engine (FE) in the car. I don't think this matters to most people.

If I were going FE, I would go 427, but as you know, the prices are high. FE typically is quite a bit lighter than 385, but use of aluminum will make the 429 as light or lighter than an FE.

I wanted to put a Cammer in my Contemporary--one of the few kits that you can actually do this, but decided against it for parts reasons. Went w/ the next best thing, a Tunnel-port.
