Paul Newman said it best when he said, "If there's a heaven on earth, it's VIR."
Virginia International Raceway isn't as impressive as a NASCAR facility, but it's stunning location, rich history, and fiendishly fun track make this the runaway favorite for most who drive it. It has hard parts, it has easy parts. It has what some consider to be road racing's fastest straightaway where some cars can get to nearly 200 mph and it has the famed oak tree that forces you to almost stop.
From Carroll Shelby in 1957: "One lap here is like 100 at Watkins Glen."
Let me put it this way: my Viper caught on fire the first time I drove VIR, and it's still my favorite track!
As for least favorite track, hands down it is Kershaw.
