I have used knock ons with my Kevlar racing Cobra, the threaded hubs/pin drives were made in NZ with Halibrand knock on lug nuts, never had a problem with them coming loose and didn't bother wiring them on.

With the car I am building at the moment it will have the same, made by Arrow wheels in Auckland NZ, I prefer the three piece wheels, they make the hubs also and the quality is top notch!

I guess I should on this car invest in proper wire pliers etc!
