hey john,
i just got my new exhaust installed on the racecar. we cut out the existing straight pipe out the passenger side and put in a straight exhaust out the back with a borla race muffler in it. i should now be able to run the car anywhere anytime without noise restraints. that pretty much means one thing. no more excuses and i will be running with the club next year.
about trailers. anyone looking need only look at ebay. there are plenty of one car open trailers available. considering new with electric brakes are $2000 or $1500 if you pick one up at a mfr in pennsylvania in season, this time of year you could probably get them for a few hundred dollars less. the used ones on ebay are barely touching $1000 these days.
renting a truck is easy. go to orbitz.com and put in the city you live, the dates, and that you want an SUV. you will find tons of rentals at ridiculous prices in your neighborhood (or at the very least near an airport where you live). and then you are set.
the only problem i could imagine is that any rental truck will not have a brake bias controller installed. i am sure you can figure out a way to rubegoldberg one for any time you go to the track. trailer hitches are fairly easy for an open trailer that weighs under 5k with a car on it. just need a class 3 i believe.
going to lime rock for the emra race on saturday. everyones welcome. i have about 5 or 6 other guys i know racing with me.
just hope it doesnt snow!!!! the forecast calls for 40 degrees, high wind and chance of snow.
