Generally if it is a Driving School most insurance co's. will cover you in case of a mishap. If it is strictly Open Track without schooling you probably ain't covered. If you have never done Open Track I strongly suggest a performance driving school just to learn how to drive on a racetrack with other fast drivers. There are rules of the track that you have to learn first before driving fast. Have seen way too many "driving experts" go out on the track and try to show how fast they are only to incounter a stationary object. Doing Open Track at a SAAC convention does not qualify as Open Track experience unless you have been running with the A group for a couple of times. While Open Track is not real racing (no passing in corners) it is very fast running and you can get into a lot of trouble real fast.
