Default New 385 Build

After waiting for 30 years I have taken the plunge. My SPF is on order for May delivery. I read all the SB vs BB debates and the FE vs 385 discussions. I wanted a 427 FE but was unwilling to take a chance on a bad block. I thought about the 428 but the oiling issues worried me. I planned on a stroked SB but by the time I specced it out, it seemed within an inch of its life. I do not own an original car so an exacting reproduction was less important. This left the 385. I found a cherry 1970 429 SCJ block with 4 bolt mains and that is going to power the car. I bought a Crane hydraulic roller cam and a dual plane manifold. It will have an Eagle crank and rods with 9.9 to 1 Keith Black pistons. Total cubes is 501. I plan to use the new Ford SCJ twisted wedge heads. The engine will be balanced and blueprinted with a competition build. Many thanks to all the Club Cobra members I have corresponded with and who have posted such great ideas and suggestions. This forum is the best!

David

PS. I posted a few pictures of the engine parts.
