The Ford 302 has the
oil pump in the front of the engine, and using a front sump pan means you have a shorter distance from the pickup to the pump. The CANTON road race pan should come with a new pickup designed to work with the front sump setup and has baffles to keep the
oil in the sump area. The RR pan takes 9 qts of
oil, you will have to re-calibrate your dip stick just to be sure. The only other thing to check is to be sure the pump isn't sucking air from above the oil level. Let us know how you make out...............MH
