The thread that never dies, never dies, because CR in it's infinite wisdom (there I go again, sorry) proclaimed that one size fits all as far as small blocks were concerned. The "School Solution" for 351W motors was don't use a Performer RPM intake so the air cleaner would fit under the hood.

The field solution was cut the factory frame mounts down 3/4" - 7/8", re-weld them, and then your Performer RPM/Wiand Stealth would fit just fine.

Then Energy-Suspension introduced polyurethane engine and trans mounts. Instead of the engine shaking, the car rocks a little at idle. But when you nail it, the engine stays put, sidepipes don't hit the body cutouts, and aircleaner doesn't hit the hood.

But the E-S mounts only fit late ('79 - up) Mustang frames. I had a pair of frame mounts that used the ES late Mustang engine mounts, nut ball 14mm bolts , and all. But work it does. Don likes the NAPA mounts. I like the ES mounts. Take your pick.

Sent my cardboard shop mock-ups to CR and they started making them. You should be able to get late Mustang mounts directly from CR with the 3/4" engine drop.

Just remember to check your sidepipe alignment. If the engine drops 3/4", so must the trans, or the engine will tilt foreward, and the sidepipes won't be parallel with the body.
