Not Ranked
It would depend upon the individual practise of every DMV in each state. My CSX 2189, which has a Michigan title, reads: 1963 Ford 2 Dr. Rdstr.
I don't know about Dave Kirkham or Jim Maxwell but, after awhile, these cars often change titles with bills of sale. The title that you receive may be three or four owners old. The reason? Well, if you are not going to drive it on the street, what is the sense of registering the car and paying $10,000 in sales tax. It would probably make more sense to drive it without a plate and pay the fine five times a year than register the car.
Imagine the guy who brought the Daytona at Barrett for $4,500,000. In our state the registration would cost $225,000. Forget the tax and go out and buy a 427 car to drive as your street vehicle.
