Evan - A buddy of mine has a brand new 996 twin turbo...They are for sure bad a$$ cars...Would love to have one as a daily driver...We took'em out to the track and he couldn't keep up with my SPF. What is assolutly amazing about the thing is the ease with which you can drive it fast...and I mean REAL

If your gonna get one, I would suggest the GT-2. Same thing almost but with none of that 4wd crap. In the GT-2 you can steer it with your right foot...Not that it really matters though, the reg Turbo is absolutly effortless to drive fast...Kinda ruins it for me though, but as a daily driver they are awesome. The sound though leaves a bit to be desired, especially compared to the Cobra.
