Terry: Yeah. H.S. football brings back some great and some embarrasing memories for me that make me laugh today. I remember TC. They were one of the tougher teams on the schedule. I actually remember all the teams. I even remember the colors of their uniforms and helmet designs. Chantilly alway had this smell. Like linament
oil. We used to tell them they smelled real purty. It used to piss em off. Funny what you remember.
Sounds like we played the exact same position. We called it "wildman" but it was basically a LB position. Back in those days my role model was good ol' Billy Bates and Cliff Harris of the Cowboys. I used to try and hit like them except after the games my ears would ring for days.

After one hit I was so diorentated I began walking to the wrong side line.
Back in those days I was around 185lbs and could run like the wind (now I only pass wind). Did 4.6 in the 40 with half pads. Could run down any half back in the conference, even our half back who played for Army after H.S.
Fortuately I was never really hurt badly. Had the wind knocked out of me multiple times. Did get a fairly serious injury playing in college (FDU Division III) when they decided my speed was better used at half back. Hated offense. I didn't like the idea of carrying three balls and having 11 guys running after your ass. Had my right shoulder separated and tore a rotator cuff in a game at the end of the season sohpmore year. End of football for me.
Sounds like you could definitely play some ball. OSU scholarship. That is impressive.
