I asked the question about engine air flow requirements a few weeks ago. I also did a search on this subject. It seems there are Guys who are using this assembly and getting negative effects from it. Some stated that they were getting fuel being sucked up through the top of the filter, while others were not.
I contacted K&N and they stated that an 11 X-Stream Assembly will flow 698 CFMS. I have a mild 302 with a 650 Holley, so that is what I wanted, so I bought one.
Wether it has improved the Engine's Performance or not is yet to be tested. We will see in a few weeks when the Snow is finally gone.
If it will lean your engine out or not I don't honestly know. I am still playing with jetting, so it am not concerned.
