Wasn't Shelby the one who determined what Ford Dealers could sell the Cobras ? I remember being in Los Angles working once and went into a close by Ford Dealer and asked him if they could get a 289 and he told me I would have to go over to some other dealer where SAI had an outlet. He never said it out right but the inference was he wasn't allowed to sell Cobras. I know the Redding dealer couldn't get one at the time but that may be because they were all spoken for.
