Most of the major teams have web-sites and you can buy used parts,everything from lug nuts to complete cars,directly from the team.... Also,if you're a NASCAR fan and belong to a fan club they usually have a newsletter with used stuff in it.... About five years or so ago,when I was in the Bill Elliot fan club they did that and I bought a shift knob from one of his #94 McDonalds car,it's in my Mustang right now....

I saw recently at Roush Racing they had used 9" ring & pinion sets for 150 bucks or less,all with one race or less on them and most had been lightened and polished,very good deal IMHO.....

I know of at least one local dirt track racer who is running a 358 used Busch motor and loves it....Not only does it have more power than anything he has ever had,he told me it is actually cheaper to operate cause the darn thing does break down or break parts... Top shelf parts will last and all he does over the winter is put rings and bearing in it and runs it all season...
