I purchased a ring & pinon gear set that was stated to have 500 miles. Obviously this is much harder usage than any of us would give a component. It was polished & burnished, and looked very nice but when it came time to set the pattern and back lash, it was somewhat difficult to optain a good consistant pattern. The extreem horsepower and usage received must have moved or worn some of the teeth a minor amount. The final pattern obtained was ok but not the most desireable.
