Hi Craig,
Well, I have about 3000 miles on the car so far. I felt that 2000 miles was a good shake down time.
Jay eludes to my drive to the Bondurant school to meet them when they were in town. On the way there I took a road that is straight and long with little or no traffic. I decided to open her up a bit and see how she handles. It didn't take long to get her up to about 150MPH. About the time I started to let off a coyote decided that he wanted to cross the road. I steered as far right as I could and just missed him with my left front. My right rear left the pavement and things got real scary fast. The Gt's rear went slightly right then it started back. I had the good sense not to hit the brakes but gassed it a little to straighten her out. I got it back and slowed down to a crawl. I was so nervous I couldn't stop shaking. When I got to the track I was still shaking and it was hard not to think about how lucky I was. No more highspeed desert road runs for me.. I keep seeing that damn coyote coming out of the brush.
I still have sufficient tire rubber but it got worn fast when Bob Bondurant drove it on the track last. He really gave it a work out.
