Post TDC through the sparkplug hole

Don't forget when doing it this way to confirm that as you turn the engine and the piston rises that it is actually on the compression stroke and not the exhaust stroke. You can confirm the compression stroke by placing your finger over the sparkplug hole and feeling/hearing for the rush of air by your finger. Once the compression stroke is confirmed I take a small screwdriver and place the tip through the sparkplug hole on the top of the piston. This makes seeing the movement of the piston and finding TDC much easier. Good luck.
