Question Charging system wiring?

Guy's I'm changing over to a one wire internally regulated 100amp Powermaster alternator in my SPF.
My question concerns how to hook up the one wire from the alternator.
Does this #6 heavy wire go directly to the battery side of the solenoid which is mounted on the firewall?
And do I need a fuseable link for this one wire? If so, what size fueable link?
Also, I'm not using the factory voltage regulator plugs which are mounted on either side of the inner fenders and allow the externally regulated alternators to be placed on driver or passenger side of the engine.
How would I get power to the dash without using these factory plugs?
Could I connect a #10 wire to the firewall mounted solenoid from the #10 red wire which runs under the dash and eventually plugs into the AMP gauge?
Also I'm replacing that AMP gauge with a Autometer Volt gauge, whish I believe to be a strait forward install? Or not?

I hope this makes sense?
Thanks for the help guys!
