Default Headlight guards

Curt, I also bought stone guards for my FFR. I never could get the original brackets to work. Here's what I did:
I punched 1/8" holes(I used a hand punch) in the outer light rim (the first one you take off, held on by one screw on the bottom) at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 o'clock. I then removed the aluminum rivet part from the "nail" portion on four rivets (I'm sure you have a few of these around). I then drilled a small hole crossways thru the "barrel" of the rivet. I then made four springs of a suitable length (about 1" or less long). I pushed the rivets through the rim from the inside, hooked a spring through the drilled hole and hooked the other end to the guard. After all four are in and holding the guard, you just slide the rim back on. All done.
Looks good to me. It's strong and easy to deal with.
Hope this idea helps.
