In the above pic, John Holman surrounded by a bevy of SOHC "Cammer" 427s. Ford developed the engine for NASCAR to compete against the Hemi but it was ruled illegal. The cammer was re-tooled for drag racing and H/M used as their motor of choice for their Funny Cars.

These pics take me back, too. Gas Rhonda also ran a Thunderbolt before the A/Fxers. Those were the times. I think it would be appropriate to start a 60s Ford Drag Racing section. Time to round up some more pics.
