A few years back I bought one of these marvels. Being a curious electronics kind of guy. I tested it and could get no activity out of it other than a beep tone when I pushed the test button. I finally worked up the curosity to crack open the case. They're glued together. Inside the beautifully styled case I found a single computer chip, an oscillator to generate the test tone. And that was all. It did not have a printed circuit board, antenna or any other components!

I have considered building a jammer. To generate a worthwhile signal, you need powerful components. The parts list I came up with, priced out at over $600. I bought a Valentine One instead.
