Al,

The post you read about the guy using his hand to push up off the hot sidepipe was probably one of mine. I still have the permanent whole palm print in the pipe and there is no way to get it out as the skin & blood actually went into the metal. And this not more than 2 seconds after I told him to not touch the side pipe as they are hot. I don't think he has ridden in a Cobra since and the last time I saw him he was ok but his hand will always be tender and bother him. His hand looked a lot like the leg picture Roscoe posted only much worse as it was the whole hand and most of the inner parts of his fingers. I now have some very high temp. stuff that if I am taking anyone for a ride and remeber it I put it alongside the seat. I cut it so it is the width of the door and when they open the door they just roll it out over the sidepipe and it will stop anyone from getting burned. Then before clossing door just lay it back on seat.
