Keep us posted on what you find. I'm in the process of building a Lone Star LS427 and trying to mock one up in ACAD 2002 as well. Having good blueprints would be a nice start, but I guess I will work from a full scale model instead. Like you I want to play with the one on the computer before I invest in something radical on the car.
