Ok ! Now we agree that the CSX4000 Cobras are real Cobras. I grew up in the 60s with the originals in L.A. and the new ones are far safer and nicer and they will NEVER be originals. As for wheather the other brands are real or not that is a matter of semantics. I am not sure that I quite agree with the replica explanation some ways back in this ever going post. From what I read a replica has to be made out of the exact things that the original was and the only way to do that is have an original and rebuilt it with original parts. Thus it would still be an original. Replica for the most part is accepted as being a copy of something, not just cars. My car is not original, a kit, nor a CSX. But according to the guy whose foot I burned out over it is very real. There can be no argument that anything that has the Shelby tag on it is going to retain and have a greater value. When Turk gets his car going, Feb. 29, 2009, he will be one of the junior elites in the club. The senior elites are the people who own original cobras from the 60s. I never built my car with any intention of making money on it or having something better or worse than anyone else. If I really wnated to get into the upper class then I would be shopping for the 1966 GT-40 that finished 2nd or 3rd at LeMans. I don't put down any car as everyone has what they like and can afford. And if your car is worth $180,000 dollars and mine is worth $22,000 dollars what is the big deal except ego. Ergo-I can waste more money than you can. If a car is worth a million dollars to the person who has it then it is worth it to them. It may not be worth that to me but I don't count as that person was getting the car for himself and not me. I watch the FFRs at Thunderhill and am as impressed with them as I am any other make I have seen. Turk, get your car going so we can start an argument over which one of our cars is the best. Yours because it is real or mine because it is a figment of my imigination.
