The adhesive stays pretty soft for a minute or two. It really helps to have someone (or something) to hold the strip in place as you proceed. Make sure you keep the strip down once you glue it. The adhesive will go stringy if you try to lift if. Be careful with the adhesive - don't use too much as it is a real b!tch to clean off. I had to use enamel reducers to clean it. Fortunately it didn't affect the clear coat.
