Boy, how do I say this without seeming like I don't know what I'm doing.......
How about,
I don't yet know what we're eating ! The food plans are still in the developmental stages.
The goals I am trying to accomplish with the meals are based on comraderie, fellowship, story telling sessions, bench racing etc., as well as getting a good meal in a convenient location all within the logistic framework of the event based on knowledge presently in my posession.
I just don't want to emerge from the infernal confines of a Grand National Stockcar and then go stand over a hot grill cooking a bunch of chicken, only to find out that everybody snuck off to Arby's because they hate chicken. If you like chicken, we're all set. Boy are we set.
That said,an air conditioned eatery might just be the ticket, so there is plenty of room for suggestions and I'll be working on it. Remember that downtown Savannah is beautiful and has several great places to eat, but we'll be hot and worn out at the end of a day at the track, and perhaps there will be another night better suited for a trip to River Street ( I am responding to an email here that proposed "Race Gruppe 3" take the whole bunch to Le Petite Aubergine or what ever it was....-NOT)
This is one of the reasons that I have not sent invitations/schedules, the other is that there are still several that have not e-mailed an address.
