I'm replacing the McLeod hydraulic throwout bearing on my EM with a new one right now. I believe the leaking assembly led to hydraulic fluid getting on the clutch disk, causing it to slip. I mention this in case you didn't remove your clutch disk. As long as you have the transmission out, I suggest you inspect your clutch disk.
