the MSD 8579 is the dist I have. I called MSD & they don't make a smaler cap for it.

Also double xhecked with mallory & the flat top dist they make is for supercharged apps &only has around 20deg of advance.

looks like I'm going to have to try a mallory unilte & hope the cap is smaller than my MSD. I asked the tech guy at mallory what the size of the cap was, but he only gave me max diameter & not the spec I wanted wghich is distance from spark plug posts on top.
