Tim -
Yes, they should park in the direction of the bend. You want the wiper blades to lay along the bottom, parallel w/ the windshield frame when they are parked. Make sure the wiper motor is in the parked position, then slide the arms onto the posts till they click in place. Make sure the arms are where you want them parked when you do this!

The arms can be made to park on either side turning the wheelboxes 180° (i.e. cable running in back rather than in front).
