Not to beat a dead horse again, but this was on AutoWeek (www.autoweek.com) this morning - nothing new, (although I'm a little confused on the time/date stamp; 15:22?).

Replica-car maker Factory Five mulling purchase of Shelby American

Rampant rumors have Massachusetts-based replica-car maker Factory Five Racing considering buying its former nemesis, Shelby American. David Smith, Factory Five co-owner, wouldn’t comment on the potential purchase, but did say his company would be interested in any opportunities that are a good match.

Meanwhile, Carroll Shelby, who is caught up in efforts to save his company from the effects of bankruptcy proceedings involving its parent company Venture, says Shelby American is not for sale because there isn’t anything to buy. “I own the name Shelby, Shelby American and Cobra,” says Shelby. “I own the lease on the facility, and there isn’t anything there but some parts.”Stay tuned.
