Cal, The car was disassembled sometime after I saw it in 1987, after it was sent to West Virginia to "Butch's shop" for a restoration. You can see the bondo in the nose on the pictures I have posted here before. Apparently the body was removed and the car disassembled and not put back together over the last 10-15 years, so it probably does need a complete restoration. As Ned Scudder has recently said, it appears that the car was never re-chassised, as previously thought.
It is still the fastest car I have ever driven and it handled like it was on rails around the Ohio countryside where Chic let me drive it, many years ago.
I think the numbers regarding the sale price are accurate, based on several independent unsolicited comments from reliable sources. I was interested in the car myself, but couldn't come up with that price!
